For independent commercial-lines agencies
Renewal changes, found and cited.
Forward the expiring policy and the renewal. PolicyCheck is built to return every change with its page number, ask your account manager one or two questions, and draft the client note for you to approve.
Your renewal is ready, and three things differ from last year. I would like to walk you through each one before you decide.
The change that hurts is the one nobody skimmed
A commercial package can run to hundreds of pages. An exclusion can arrive while the premium looks about the same, and the client note starts from a blank page.
What it compares
PolicyCheck starts with general liability and commercial property or business owners policies, for agencies of about 3 to 15 staff that sell small-business package accounts.
Every item is built to cite a page, so checking it takes seconds. It is also built to list any pages it could not read, and to say the review is incomplete before it reports that nothing changed.
It asks before it writes
The agent asks your account manager one or two questions, such as whether a change was expected or agreed with the client, then drafts the note. You edit it and send it from your own email.
It makes no coverage determination. Your account manager decides.
Works with the tools you already use
You forward two PDFs. There is no new dashboard to learn. If you use an AI tool, the same job is planned to be callable by an agent as structured JSON.
Examples of what it looks for
Examples only, not results from a real client file.
- Example
Contractual liability limited
Form CG 21 39 narrows the 'insured contract' definition so tort liability assumed under a contract can drop out of coverage.
- Example
Roof surfacing limited
Form CP 10 36 limits roof surfacing to actual cash value or excludes cosmetic damage.
- Example
Wind or hail deductible turns into a percentage
Form CP 03 21 sets the deductible as a share of building value instead of a flat amount.
- Example
Additional insured form downgraded
An edition change on a form such as CG 20 10 or CG 20 37 can narrow who is covered and for what.
- Example
Fungi or pollution exclusion added
Forms such as CG 21 67 (fungi) or CG 21 49 (total pollution) can show up at renewal.
Four steps, and you stay in charge
- Forward
the expiring policy and the renewal as two PDFs. - Review
a change report with a page citation for each change, ranked by risk. - Answer
one or two questions from the agent to your account manager. - Approve
the client note, then send it from your own email.
What it will not do, and where we are
- It will not send anything. You send the note yourself.
- It does not connect to your agency management system yet. It works from email and uploads.
- It does not handle personal lines.
- It makes no coverage determination.
Questions
Does it replace policy checking?
No. It is meant to speed up the comparison. Your account manager decides what to raise with the carrier and what to tell the client.
How accurate is it?
We do not have a measured accuracy figure yet, so we will not quote one. We plan to publish results after testing on partner documents. Every item is built to cite a page so you can verify it quickly.
Which lines does it cover?
General liability and commercial property or business owners policies first. Other lines may follow later. Personal lines are out of scope.
Where do our documents go?
We will agree how documents are stored and when they are deleted with each agency before any real policy is shared. The plan is encrypted storage with deletion after a period you choose.
Do you have SOC 2?
No. We are not SOC 2 certified. We will walk you through our controls and retention terms, and nothing goes live until you are comfortable.
Does it connect to my management system?
Not yet. It works from email and uploads.
